Please mark your calendar for our first ever hybrid event on October 22, 2021. We are excited to offer two exciting ways to connect, and hope you are, too!
With COVID-19 continuing to impact people around the world, but with lofty vaccination numbers in our state and around the country, we have decided to make our Transforming Lives Gala a Hybrid event in 2021. What is a Hybrid Gala, you ask? Hybrid means this year you can attend our signature gala either in person OR online!
You can choose to join us in person at the Minneapolis Depot, or from your computer (on your couch at home, or anywhere in the world). The Depot is ready to host a safe and fun event, and a Zoom component is perfect for those not yet ready to mingle. With your help we are setting a lofty but reachable goal and are aiming to raise $400,000 to fund our health and wellness programs, which are essential parts of providing care Beyond the Basics, which is our theme for the gala. A home, food and assistance are essential components of quality care, but we strive to go above and beyond by offering exceptional services that make a life full and exciting. Wellness, art, outdoor activities, pet therapy, horticulture therapy, robust volunteering in community and from community, all work together to create a rich and vibrant life.
The in person event will start at 6:00 pm and the virtual program is expected to stream online starting at 7:00 pm on Friday, October 22, 2021. The online portion of the gala will run approximately 45 minutes, and the night’s festivities will once again be hosted live by local personality T Mychael Rambo and Auctioneer Kurt Johnson, along with out new CEO Tom Gillespie, and some of the wonderful people we support. There will be entertainment, there will be Dreammaker honorees, there will be an auction, and even a special Fund A Need for continued COVID-19 support.
Your participation makes a real and profound difference in the lives of people with disabilities and is key to ensuring the success of our mission. We look forward to your support!
So please join us and share with your friends so no one misses this once in a lifetime experience. Keep up to date on the program and auction here and RSVP here.
If you experience difficulty accessing the program or participating in the online auction, please contact us and please RSVP to receive the latest updates on the Hybrid Gala straight to your inbox and provide your mobile number to receive event and auction updates via text message.
With COVID-19 continuing to impact people around the world, we have decided to make our Gala a Hybrid event, offering opportunities to connect in person or online. This offers us the opportunity to meet in person with an appropriate size group, and also have support from people around the globe! Your generous support allows us to continue serving those impacted by disabilities through our programs, services, and advocacy.
The Transforming Lives Gala will take place on Friday, October 22nd from 6:00-9:00 pm at the Minneapolis Depot, with the virtual live program streaming 7:00-8:00 pm CST. The silent and live auctions will close at 9 pm that night. Individual tickets or tables are available for purchase. The cost to attend online is free, so please invite your friends to attend as well. Dress up or dress down – you get to choose!
T. Mychael Rambo, local actor and personality, will host the event. We’ll feature a special presentation and silent and live auctions, a fund-a-need appeal, along with our moving Dreammaker Awards and additional experiences. In both ways to attend you’ll hear about how your support allows us to continue to be a vital resource in our communities across the Twin Cities.
Party in person. Or, we will live stream the Gala, so you’ll be able to see it on your computer or other electronic device. For our auction items, all bidding/giving will happen through the GiveSmart technology. In order to have a seamless Gala experience, we recommend that you use 2 devices: one to stream the Gala, and one to bid/donate with.
To sign up, click the “Register Now” button above and go through the prompts in order to create an account. We encourage you to register now so you can be kept up to date on changes and announcements. PLEASE NOTE: You will be asked to enter your credit card when you register. This simply ensures a smooth process if you choose to bid or donate. You will not be charged unless you do so.
Targeted sponsorship opportunities are available. As a Living Well Disability Services sponsor, you will help with the funding of our mission to transform the lives of people impacted by disabilities. In addition, you or your company will be promoted as a partner in our mission.
