Every September, we take time to recognize the incredible work of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) during Direct Support Professional Recognition Week. This nationwide celebration shines a spotlight on the dedicated people who make our mission possible every day. DSP’s work 24/7/365 and without their dedication and commitment to care, we could not meet our mission of providing exceptional services for people with disabilities.

At Living Well, our DSPs provide far more than support. They build relationships, encourage independence, advocate for the people we serve, and help create meaningful lives and opportunities for growth and learning. Their compassion, skill, and commitment to care are the reason so many individuals thrive in our programs and communities.

DSP Week is a well-deserved opportunity to thank these remarkable professionals for choosing careers focused on caring for others. We are grateful for everything they do.

Special congratulations to Nadia!

This year’s DSP Week also brought exciting news for Living Well as Nadia Gatiglo from our Southcrest home was recognized with an ARRM Cares Award.

The ARRM Cares Awards honor direct support professionals who demonstrate exceptional dedication and a commitment to providing high-quality services. Nadia’s award is a reflection of the outstanding care she provides and the positive impact she has on the lives of the people she supports. We are proud to celebrate Nadia and this well-earned recognition. Congratulations, Nadia!

We also want to recognize George Gongera from Inndale and Heidi Casey from 3801 for being selected as ARRM Cares Award finalists earlier this year. Their outstanding dedication and service continue to make a meaningful difference every day. Being named a finalist is a significant accomplishment, and we are grateful for their dedication, compassion, and commitment to supporting the people they serve.

Celebrating Together

One of our favorite DSP Week traditions returned this year as members of the Human Resources team, Customized Services and Thompson visited Highland Popcorn to prepare special treats for staff.

Highland Popcorn’s mission to create meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities makes them a perfect partner for Living Well. Staff enjoyed receiving popcorn treats and other goodies as a small token of appreciation for the tremendous work they do throughout the year.

The week also included celebrations and recognition across our programs as managers, coworkers, people supported, and leadership came together to thank DSPs for their dedication and service.

Thank You, DSPs

The work of a DSP is meaningful, impactful, and life changing. Every day, Living Well’s direct support professionals help people achieve their goals, build relationships, and live lives filled with possibility.

To all of our DSPs: thank you for your hard work, your compassion, and your unwavering commitment to the people we support. Today and every day, we appreciate all that you do.

Happy DSP Recognition Week!
