Over the past few weeks, we introduced you to our Self-Advocate, Donor and Volunteer Dreammaker Award winners who will be celebrated at our Transforming Lives Gala on September 20, 2024. This week, we want to tell you about final award winner—Community Partner Dreammaker, Senator John Hoffman.
At the core of community progress lies the vital importance of advocacy, and amidst the competing interests and priorities within the realm of legislation, Senator John Hoffman stands apart as a steadfast champion in improving the lives of all Minnesotans, specifically those needing essential services.
Senator Hoffman’s career, spanning a decade, has led initiatives across key areas such as early childhood education, special education law, environmental protection, and legacy funding for arts, culture, and natural resources, as well as a focus on aging and long-term care. As the current human services committee chair, he recently helped to pass the 2023 Omnibus Human Services budget bill, which will help to provide targeted relief to caregivers and people who access essential services – something much needed for the individuals we support and for the caring community at large.
His exceptional contributions and unwavering dedication to the well-being of our community makes Senator Hoffman’s bipartisan leadership a shining example of the transformative power of advocacy and action. He has helped to pave the way for a more inclusive, and equitable society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

2024 Transforming Lives Gala Details:
On September 20, 2024, our Transforming Lives Gala program will premiere a documentary style video featuring our Therapy Program. It beautifully showcases what life can look like when there are quality staff and services available. We are so excited to share it and will post a link after the event.
After months of planning and advocacy, we are almost at the finish line. We have several ways to help us reach our goal of $400K. Every dollar counts and is appreciated. Here is how you can support Living Well:
Register online to watch the livestreamed portion of the event. Click back on Friday and watch the event live. After Friday the video will be uploaded and available for viewing for months to come.
Bid on auction items. This year we have silent auction items with values from $30 to $640. There is something for everyone.
Donate. If you are simply in the mood to give, go on the site, scroll down to donations, and hit any dollar amount on our fund a need. Each and every dollar counts.
Read. Sign up to be on our mailing list and encourage your friends to do the same. Maybe this isn’t the year to donate, but you are still interested in helping us with advocacy. You will get weekly blogs sent to you, and you will be able to keep up to date on what is happening at Living Well as we look forward to the future.
