Our DSP for this week is Clothilde. She works in our Carmen home in Mendota Heights and has an absolute heart of gold. Lucky for us she has a huge smile and is always in a good mood.

ABOUT CLOTHILDE
Number of years/months with Living Well: 7 months
Hobbies/Interests: I like to do everything! It is my nature to clean everything, so I keep a clean house. I have three kids, ages 11, 7 and 2, so I am always busy and always cleaning up.
Education: I am a high school graduate back home in Democratic Republic of the Congo. I started CNA training here, but I did not finish as it does not align with my kid’s schedules. I want to accomplish that eventually.
Job Experience/History: This is my first time working in this field. I like it so much. Prior to this I worked at the airport in food service.
Favorite part of the job: I like to do everything here. Simply caring for people truly makes me happy. I have a special bond with one of the women here, and at bath time we connect as she needs full assistance, and it takes extra time. I also like helping her with her stander, to make sure her legs have some muscle tone and movement.
Favorite or craziest work story: One of the guys makes me smile, and we enjoy working on puzzles. Keeping him busy is great. He is a generally happy guy, and we laugh and have fun.
What is your motivation for coming to work: I come here happy. I am a simple girl, when I come in the afternoon, I am excited to see the folks here. I am genuinely very happy here.
What made you apply: My sister sent a link to me; she works at Upper 55th and has been there about eight months.
What makes you stay: I stay because I love this job. This is a fun house, especially the manager and the folks who work and live here. I am part of a good team. Treasure trained me in, and I learned a lot from her.
What would you tell people interested in joining the team: I tell people Living Well is good and that at Carmen it is a great house, with a great manager, and a great team!
When not at work what do you like to do for fun: I sometimes go for a swim with my kids. We like to go to the park or walk to the Lake. My kids love playing football. And we like to go to dinner at McDonalds or go for ice cream.
