Having fun at the house.

In perfect timing for National Volunteer Week, our DSP this week is Revina. This incredible woman started as a volunteer back in 2013 and shortly after that transitioned to working as a DSP. She works at our Elgin home and has been with Living Well Disability Services for over 10 years. Revina works well with everybody and is an amazing team player. She is also the chef of the house and prepares delicious dinners for the home whenever she is working.

Enjoying a beautiful day.

Program Manager, Chinatu Ejodamen, says, “Revina is very respectful and self-motivated. She speaks softly and peacefully with the people she takes care of. Revina knows how to communicate with them as individuals, and she makes it fun. Many of the people are nonverbal and they will make sounds together and communicate in a unique way.” This musical version of communication comes easy to Revina as she is a natural caregiver and is receptive to the needs of others.

Chinatu and Revina at the 2023 ARRM Forward Conference.

Last July Revina and Chinatu attended the ARRM Forward Conference. The conference is the largest educational event focused on front-line support staff and middle management development in Minnesota, drawing more than 700 DSPs, site supervisors, program managers, program directors, executives and more. Together they attended sessions with other DSPs from organizations throughout the state, as well as a large group from Living Well.

Revina is a wonderful asset to the Elgin team, and we are very lucky she found us a decade ago. Revina, we appreciate your hard work, dedication, and delicious food! Thank you for making a career out of caring.
