State Fair!
Our DSP for this week is Sandra. She works at our Central house in Cambridge and has been with Living Well since 2007. She is an integral part of a great team and enjoys spending her days with the crew at the house. She is always willing to go above and beyond and has built incredible relationships with everyone at Central.
Deb Krienitz, Program Manager, says, “Sandra, is amazing, the guys love her. She is always happy to take them to appointments and out and about around town. She’s a true asset to Central and we are thrilled she is part of the team.”

ABOUT SANDRA
Number of years/months with Living Well: 17 years 11 months
Hobbies/Interests: I like to travel. My daughter and I are taking an online class with language professors with U of M to learn Italian. We have traveled to Rome and I would love to know the language if I go again. I also like to swim and want to pick up crocheting again.
Education: Through church I took two years of Biblical Studies courses.
Job Experience/History: In addition to being a DSP here at Living Well (and I was an APM for a while years ago), I also taught Sunday school at church.
Favorite part of the job: Supporting the guys and finding out what their interests are. Being able to help them on a day-to-day basis and encouraging them makes me happy. Helping them accomplish what they want to accomplish is meaningful.
Favorite or craziest work story: I can’t think of anything, but can say I love to be here and learn new things.
What is your motivation for coming to work: I really just like the guys I work with, and the staff is wonderful. It feels like a family, we get along well and are very connected.
What made you apply: A girl that I went to church with said I would be a good fit here and recommended it to me. I applied and they hired me right away. I was new to the work, but I have been here a long time and enjoy it. I also live in the neighborhood, so that is convenient.
What makes you stay: It is convenient as it is close to home, and I really like the work and the people. I took a small six-month break, but I enjoyed this much more and came back.
Travelling with family.
When not at work what do you like to do for fun: I like to see plays with my family. My favorite play is Les Misérables, even saw it on Broadway in NY. My family and I also enjoy going to fun restaurants in Minneapolis and St. Paul.
