Stacy with Dennis and Tiffany.

Our DSP this week is Stacy. She is a busy mom of three who has been with us for over four years and works at our Lyndale home. She loves her job and really enjoys helping the people who call Lyndale home live their best lives.

Program Manager, Teewon Dolopei, says, “Stacy connects very well with all the people served at Lyndale. She is very supportive with coordinating vacations for the people served, especially their desired vacation spots. In 2023, her tireless effort made it possible for a person served to visit Elvis Presley’s Graceland in Memphis—a place this person served has been planning for several years to visit. Stacy is passionate about supporting the people served at Lyndale and she remains an asset.”

Caroline, who has been with Living Well since 2009, and lived at Lyndale but is moving to 3801, says, “I like that Stacy helps us at the house and takes us places, to appointments and things like that. She helps with our paperwork and our budgets.” Adding, “Going to the casino on New Years Day was super fun, and she made that happen. She also took me to Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood concerts! It’s so cool that she is going to be DSP of the week, this is FUN.”

Stacy is committed to helping her people get access to the things they want to do and worked hard to get Caroline and Tiffany set up for the dog sled trip in January. Caroline was super grateful, as it is her favorite trip of the year, and was so grateful Stacy advocated for her and Tiffany. Stacy also helped them volunteer for the 2023 Living Well gala, where they all had a blast.

Stacy, we sincerely apprecaite you and your incredible work ethic. We are lucky to have you on the team. Thank you for making a career out of caring.

Number of years/months with Living Well: 4 years, 7 months

Hobbies/Interests: I love travelling, Kansas City and Chicago are my favorites. New York is on my bucket list, want to get there once in my life. I also enjoy watching football.

Education: In 2019 I started at Minneapolis Community Technical College, in the Human Services Program, but stopped during Covid. My goal is to go back in spring to finish the program.

Job Experience/History: I was a cashier for 10 years at a few different places, a gas station and a movie theater. For the past seven years I have done DSP work, four years now as an Assistant Program Manager.

Favorite part of the job: All of it! Seriously, helping these guys out every day brings me so much joy.

Favorite or craziest work story: I once called the police on a woodpecker. This was at another group home prior to working at Living Well, but it makes me chuckle and is a good reminder to always be better safe than sorry.

What is your motivation for coming to work: All the people I support drive me to do better each day, helping them is my motivation. My coworkers are amazing as well.

What made you apply: I followed my former boss here, Angela, who now works in accounts receivable. When she told me she was leaving the other company I worked for, I followed her immediately. I am delighted that I made that decision.

What would you tell people interested in joining the team: JOIINNNN!! Seriously, I can’t even describe it as there is so much good stuff to say. It is such an amazing experience. You never have the same day twice, but everything is worth coming in for.

When not at work what do you like to do for fun: Spend time with my Family. And I really love playing Bingo. My fav place is Friday and Saturday nights at Mystic Lake they have cosmic glow night bingo where you wear sparkly clothes and light up the place. I love to take my mom.

Do you volunteer in your community or school: I am the volunteer team mom for my son’s traveling football and basketball teams. My kids are 16, 13 and 7, so I don’t have much time for volunteering besides that.
