At Living Well, we know that people are what turn a mission into a movement. The people we support, the dedicated staff who show up every day with compassion and purpose, the families who partner with us in care, and the advocates who give their time, talent, and voice all come together to make our work possible. It’s because of this collective commitment that Living Well continues to fulfill its mission of transforming the lives of people living with disabilities through exceptional services.
This week, we’re excited to continue our Meet the Board Spotlight Series by introducing board member Bill Boyd. Bill brings a thoughtful, steady presence to Living Well, along with a deep commitment to service that is rooted in both professional expertise and personal experience. Known for his collaborative leadership style and genuine care for others, Bill believes strongly in building teams—and communities—where people feel valued and supported. We are grateful he found us via Board Member, Nicolas Tiziou, who had lunch with him and got him interested in the role. Bill says, “It didn’t take much convincing to join. One of my goals was to serve on a board that had strong subject-matter expertise. The board was also looking for a technology professional, and that aligned well with my experience. After going on several home tours as part of the orientation process, there was no question that Living Well was the right fit for me.”
By day, Bill is a technology leader with more than 20 years of experience. He currently leads a team delivering technology services at MSP and six regional airports aimed at providing best-in-class experiences for the traveling public. He’s passionate about mentoring others, developing future leaders, and staying connected to education through his role as Chair of the Industry Advisory Board for the MIS program at UW–Eau Claire. Outside of work, Bill enjoys spending time with his family and staying involved in his children’s school and activities.
Bill’s connection to Living Well is deeply personal as well as professionally fulfilling. Having a brother-in-law with autism has given him firsthand insight into the importance of long-term, high-quality support for individuals with disabilities and their families. That perspective fuels his dedication to Living Well’s mission and his desire to ensure the organization continues to grow, innovate, and serve with dignity and care.
Get to know Bill a little better and learn more about his “why.” We’re grateful for the experience, heart, and leadership he brings to Living Well—and for the many ways he helps move our mission forward.
Number of years/months with Living Well: I joined the Living Well Board of Directors in January 2024 and am currently in my third year of service.
Hobbies/Interests: I enjoy mentoring and developing people, especially helping others grow into strong leaders. I’m passionate about technology and education, and I value spending time with my family, including staying involved in my kids’ school and activities.
Education: I earned my bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire.
Job Experience/History: I have more than 20 years of experience in technology and business leadership roles. I previously worked at Cargill and currently work at the Metropolitan Airports Commission as IT Director, Infrastructure & Operations. I also serve as Chair of the Industry Advisory Board for the MIS program at UW–Eau Claire.
Favorite part of your day job and board position: In my day job, I enjoy developing people and building strong teams. Seeing others grow and succeed is incredibly rewarding. As a Living Well board member, I value the opportunity to apply my professional skills—particularly in technology, strategy, and governance—to support an important mission.
Favorite Living Well story: One of my favorite Living Well experiences was attending the Gala and inviting friends who had no prior connection to the organization. Watching them engage with the people Living Well supports and gain a deeper understanding of the mission was powerful.
What is your motivation for working with Living Well: My motivation is deeply personal. My brother-in-law has autism and requires lifelong support, which has given me firsthand insight into the challenges families face when planning for long-term care. Living Well provides dignified, high-quality support, and I’m proud to be part of that work.
What would you tell people interested in joining the board: Everyone has something valuable to offer. You don’t need to provide direct care to make a difference—your skills, experience, time, or advocacy can all contribute to meaningful impact.
