Our DSP this week is Tyler. He works at our Carmen home and has been with Living Well for over a year. He has built great relationships with the folks at the house, and always seems to be up for anything, including a trip to the State Fair in sweltering heat. In a fun twist, Tyler was referred to Living Well by his mom who was a temp CNA working at the house.
Alexis Santana, Program Manager, says, “Tyler is such a hard worker and has such strong relationships with the people we serve at Carmen. He shows up ready to work and always asks such great questions to make sure he is doing the right things to better support the people. He genuinely loves his job and cares for the people and Carmen is so thankful to have him! Thank you, Tyler, you are amazing!!”
Tyler, on this Thanksgiving week, we are thankful for you and all the DSPs who make a career out of caring. We appreciate all you do at Carmen.
ABOUT TYLER
Number of years/months with Living Well: 1 year 4 months
Hobbies/Interests: Games, comics, music, cooking.
Job Experience/History: General labor at mostly factory and warehouses prior to Living Well.
Favorite part of the job: The people, both staff and people served.
What is your motivation for coming to work: Definitely my coworkers and people served, everyone at the Carmen house is great.
What made you apply: My mother recommended the job to me after she worked at the house. (She’s a CNA with GrapeTree, the temp agency)
What makes you stay: The same as my motivation for coming in, the people!
What would you tell people interested in joining the team: This line of work can be tough but it is one of the most rewarding jobs in the world.
When not at work what do you like to do for fun: Hang out with friends, play games, go for walks.
