Women seem to be born caregivers, providers of smiles, and natural leaders. Somehow with busy schedules and mile long to-do lists, women magically find a way to show up for others and each other.  On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate the women who live and work at Living Well Disabilities Services. Since 1972 we have had hundreds, if not thousands, of women make space for helping others and show up to do the heavy work while also nurturing the people we serve and treating everyone with loving kindness and respect. To the women, the mothers, the daughters, the sisters, the students, the teachers, the leaders, the followers…we say thank you!

Camille at 32nd.

Thank you for making time for and advocating for people living with disabilities. Thank you for helping to bring a little love, light and joy into their days and nights, and positively impacting their lives. With almost 80% of our staff being female we are beyond grateful to the women who chose to make a career out of caring!

To showcase the level of commitment the women at Living Well have shown throughout the years, we have a fun photo to share featuring Senior Director of Program Service Beth Tollefson, her daughter Jill, and Elaine over at Diane Road. Beth has been with Living Well for over 30 years, working her way up though the company, and her daughter Jill, a Program Manager, has been with Living Well for five years, having started while still in college. But Jill is not new to the organization. Nope. Jill has been by her mom’s side since she was a baby and occasionally came to visit her mom at work. Check out Beth, Jill and Elaine back in 1999 at Diane Road.

Now 24, Jill is a Program Manager and recently started at … Diane Road. She now helps support Elaine, who she has known since she was a baby! The trio will be at Day at the Capitol advocating for legislation on March 28 and we are so grateful for their strength, determination, kindness and unity. There is a special kind of connection in caring for another human. The love of a caregiver is obvious, and the people who work at Living Well are simply the most amazing people on the planet.
