Living Well’s 2022 Transforming Lives Gala is set for Friday, August 19th at the Depot Minneapolis. We hope you can join us. Tickets on sale now, and raffle tickets are hot off the press…
Its official—save the dates are sent, invites are at the printer, and raffle tickets are in hand! We are having a celebration, and we hope you can join us! Living Well Disability Services is celebrating 50 years this year, that means we are honoring five decades of advocacy and advancement in disability awareness and inclusion.
Why a gala? Two reasons. First and foremost, we are raising money to support our mission. But a very close second, or perhaps maybe an equal goal, is to raise disability awareness and highlight the importance of inclusion. Our gala shines a bright light on the need for quality care and showcases the amazing people who live and work at Living Well. Many of you know that a majority of our funding comes from government sources like Medicare, but what you might not realize is that the “extras” that make life full of meaning and fun are rarely covered. The gaps in funding, for which there are many, are filled with donations and sponsorships. Our Transforming Lives Gala is the largest event fundraiser of the year, and we lean on it heavily to provide services beyond the basics.
This is why we need you. You can help us build sponsorship relationships, fill tables, find auction items, and sell raffle tickets by telling your friends and network about the transformative work of Living Well’s mission. For the first time ever, we added a $50,000 level of sponsorship. And for those who have smaller budgets, raffle tickets start at $50. Keep in mind, we only have 200 raffle tickets. This means you have a higher chance of winning. And perhaps the best part of the raffle is if we sell all 200, it will equal a $10,000 donation! Many hands can make a big impact. There is a level of participation for each individual and family. We also want to fill every seat! Having more people in person and viewing online will make a huge impact on outreach. Filling the tables means more people will learn about the work we do and begin to understand why community inclusion is so important.
This year we will be gathering at the Depot Minneapolis for cocktails, dinner, a program featuring videos about our mission and Dreammmaker awards, as well as a fabulous LIVE auction, silent auction items and music by local favorite GOOD FOR GARY. We moved the event from its usual October time slot to take advantage of the beautiful outdoor shed area of the Depot and made the theme all about our 50th anniversary. You do not want to miss the party, it is the perfect excuse to get out and have fun while raising money, and awareness, for Living Well.
